For over thirty years, Jim Wirken has been leveling the legal playing field by being a voice for the people of Kansas City. After spending time as a prosecutor, Jim went into business for himself, developing a large and successful partnership. Though successful, Jim felt that a large firm was ill-equipped to deal with the everyday legal concerns of ordinary people, the purpose to which he had dedicated himself first and foremost. So Jim left the big firm and went out on his own again, this time developing the kind of personal and attentive firm that he had always wanted. As one client recently said, “You get big firm results, with a small firm feel.” Jim currently heads up the Trial Advocacy program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Both in his practice, and in his teaching, Jim has taught many of the top trial lawyers in Kansas City. He also teaches in the MBA and Paralegal programs at Rockhurst University, and is consistently a highly sought-after teacher of Attorney’s Continuing Legal Education in Missouri.
